MARCOR in the News: School Bus Decontamination
10/2/2006–Boston, MA–MARCOR emergency response worker Janny Vasquez, a field technician in MARCOR's Wilmington, MA office, was quoted in a recent news story by WCVB-TV Boston regarding the rapid-response cleanup of school busses contaminated with hazardous silica dust (also known as slag).
Due to a malfunction in a nearby concrete plant, over 3,000 lbs. of the hazardous dust contaminated the area where school busses were parked. Within one hour, MARCOR responded to the emergency call and began the cleanup effort midday on Thursday, Sept. 28 – continuing work through the night and into the next morning so school children would have transportation on Friday.
