These include industrial cleaning, lead hazard abatement, mold remediation, plant/process decommissioning and demolition, soil and groundwater remediation, disaster recovery, gun range remediation, storage tank management, hazadous coatings removal and much more…
Our clients include environmental consultants, government agencies, property management firms, industrial hygienists, the hospitality industry, educational institutions, health care facilities, various commercial and industrial clients and many others. Our offices are staffed with senior technical managers, regulatory compliance experts, business development managers, administrative personnel and an experienced HAZMAT labor force.
Due to our continued growth, we are searching for experienced Site Supervisors(Industrial) for our Wilmington, MD(Boston Area) office.
- Meet with Project Mangers, Operations Managers, Assistant Operations Managers, Customers, and/or Customers’ Agents to obtain complete understanding of job requirements and document as necessary job requirements before project start
- Plan execution of the job with Project Manager and Operations Manager referring to specifications and plans as needed
- Conduct a Job-Site Hazard Analysis for the project site before start of work and train all employees on the potential job hazards, control measures to eliminate, contain or reduce the hazard, and the location of the JHA, and other pertinent safety information
- Clearly communicate all job requirements including but not necessarily limited to; job schedules, work plans, abatement techniques, equipment usage, hazardous conditions and safety procedures, damage control procedures, job site layout, sampling, reporting, and emergency procedures
- Direct all technicians’ work activities to meet production and safety requirements
- Train employees as required on job techniques, safety procedures, and equipment use
- Conduct weekly “tool box safety meetings” in compliance with MARCOR policy and ensure employee attendance and understanding
- Conduct a “fit check” the first day of the week and on the first day of a new job for all employees who are required to wear respirators
- Conduct an accident/incident investigation in accordance with company policy should a work site injury or loss of equipment or property occur
- Complete the necessary accident or incident investigation forms and submit them to the Operations Manager or Operations Administrator
- Evaluate employees working on the job and communicate performance standards and evaluations to employees
- Take disciplinary action when any Technician or Crew Leader working on the job is in violation of Company policy, regulatory standards, or jobsite-specific rules
- A Supervisor may require an employee leave the work site for violating rules and recommend further disciplinary action to the Operations Manager, however, the Supervisor may not fire an employee
- Provide input, feedback, and recommendations regarding employee performance for annual evaluations
- A Supervisor may provide feedback and input regarding employee performance, however, the Operations Manager is responsible for conducting annual evaluations, hiring, firing, promoting, and transferring field employees
- Maintain high production, safe work habits, and high morale/motivational levels on all of the jobs supervised
- Scan each employee in and out to track work time
- Ensure that each employee is present with his/her badge at the job start time, that no one is using another’s badge, and that correct job numbers and records are being scanned,
- Record mileage as required and download time records every evening
- Complete and forward all necessary paperwork as directed
- Document all work completed on the job each day along with the materials/equipment used on the job on a Daily Job Report
- Submit all vacation requests and field expense reports for Technicians or Crew Leaders to the Operations Manager or Operations Administrator
- Ensure that all necessary information and posted notices required on the job site have been posted
- These may include but not necessarily be limited to: job site health and safety plan, JHA, MSDSs, required Asbestos notices, required labor postings, Workers Compensation information, emergency phone numbers, and similar information
- Communicate with customer’s agents, other contractors, subcontractors, and others as required
- Report all other activities that may have been done on a MARCOR job, so that MARCOR is not held responsible for another company’s work
- Represent MARCOR during regulatory site visitations or other third-party visitations in accordance with MARCOR’s policy concerning regulatory site visitations
- Contact other managers as appropriate to apprise them of third-party visitations to the job site
- Maintain and promote good customer relations at all times
- Perform personal air samples
- Perform duties of (Asbestos) Technician as required
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3 years minimum experience
- Asbestos Supervisor's License for MA
- One or more of the following related skills: carpentry (training certificate), plumbing (training certificate), wiring (training certificate)
- One or more of the following related skills: time management (training certificate), effective communication (training certificate), supervisor training (training certificate), OSHA safety and/or hazardous communication (certificate)
- Effective written and verbal communications and good interpersonal skills
- Neat, professional appearance
- Excellent driving record and reliable transportation
- Organized
- Problem-solving abilities
- Successful completion of Job Responsibilities
- Good communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with mangers, co-workers, customers and regulators/inspectors
- Must be able to pass AHERA EPA Supervisor Training, CPR and First Aid Training courses
- Must be able to lift 50-100 lbs on a frequent basis
- Must be able to work in confined spaces
- Must be able to work in temperature extremes
- Must be able to work in a respirator and protective clothing
- Must be able to work from heights
- Must be able to stand, bend, stoop or crouch at least 75% of the time
- Must have a minimum of two years experience in a supervisory position with an abatement or construction company
- Must have a working knowledge of asbestos and construction regulations and must be able to comply with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations governing the work performed by MARCOR
- Must be able to pass the annual asbestos physical as detailed in 29 CFR 1926.1101 and must be able to comply with MARCOR’s Drug and Alcohol Free Workplace Policy
- Must have a valid drivers’ license and be able to drive to various job locations and transport materials or employees to job sites
