Food and Beverage Industry Client
This massive project called for nationwide logistics, stringent scheduling, and consumer-sensitive management.
MARCOR spearheaded a nationwide asbestos abatement project for a major food and beverage industry client’s bottling plants. The company’s corporate safety managers had directed that all bottling facilities achieve asbestos-free environments as rapidly as possible. Their consultant, Drucker Environmental, contracted MARCOR to handle the huge abatement effort. The $5 million project addressed bottling facilities in the following states: California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas, Virginia, and Washington State. MARCOR’s abatement team traveled to each facility to implement abatement efforts. This single, dedicated team, familiar with the client’s procedures and production operations at each facility, ensured rapid, on-schedule success nationwide. The team was also on call to supply emergency response environmental services, if needed.
Meeting the Challenge
The nationwide company prides itself on exercising extreme caution regarding its product lines, particularly concerning foreign matter contamination that could potentially harm consumers. Yet the company wanted to keep production on schedule, without down time for remediation services. MARCOR’s flexibility and innovation met the challenge. We designed specialized, dual containment systems for each location that allowed uninterrupted production. Our work schedule included weekends, holidays, and when the facility’s equipment or machinery was shut down for repairs.
