MARCOR decontaminated approximately 16,000 square feet of a national retail store that had been sullied by a rodent infestation. To accomplish this, MARCOR coordinated shutdown of the HVAC system in work areas and the isolation of each work area while the cleaning process took place. (An exterminator had already eliminated the source of the problem.)

To clean the area, MARCOR utilized floor-to-deck polyethylene sheeting and established negative pressure within the contaminated areas. The areas were then cleaned and sanitized utilizing HEPA-filtered local exhaust ventilation units. MARCOR had to carefully go through the damaged stock, working with the store’s ETL-LOAD charge-out (warehouse data tracking) process.

Waco boxes contaminated with urine and feces were removed and disposed. The kick plate, bottom shelves, and floor of the affected area were cleaned and sanitized. The stockroom shelving, walls, floor, and other affected surfaces were cleaned and sanitized, as well. The area beneath the food and pet gondola base desks was cleaned under negative pressure. A trash compactor was used to consolidate removed rubbish. The area was then power washed, and a clean roof was mounted over the HVAC systems in the rear stock room. The floor was also cleaned in the garden area.

This job was completed on time and within budget.
